Bailiff advice

Hi there, I came back from work today to find a hand delivered bailiff letter addressed to my ex boyfriend. We split up and he moved out over 2 years ago. I was very worried of course, thinking that some fat guy was going to try and take my stuff. So i telephoned the number and spoke to "wayne". Told him that he had moved out over 2 years ago and that i didnt have an address for him but would try and get it. I do know his parents address but i wasnt prepared to give it, as they are very old and didnt want to cause them stress.Anyway i think the guy believed me, but am just worried incase he didnt, and comes back. What if its the kids who answered the door? I am so angry at the min. Where do i stand, and what can i do?

    Hi

He has no right to enter the house if a child opens the door and he has no right to take anything that does not belong to your ex.

You are under no obligation to tell him where ex lives even if you have made an offer verbally.

You might want to confirm in writing that ex left 2 years ago, but there really is nothing to worry about.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • Thanks..just so angry with him. The debt was for council tax back in 2005 at his old address before he moved in with me. I am still in contact with his daughter and so will try and get his current address off her. Am doing it more to annoy him...would love to see his face when they knock his door!
