Question re winning phone calls?

I just missed a call on the mobile I use for competitions, and I forgot to switch my voicemail on, silly me, so no message was left.
If I am right in thinking if it was a winning phone call, will they call back or will they give the prize to someone else.
It was a supressed number so I couldn't call them back either.
I'm probably going to always wonder what could have been
