Bread Maker

I'm looking to save money in my food shopping, am using many ideas on here already, I normally but tesco's 28p bread for toasting and a granary from hovis etc for about 98p we only use a few loaves a month maybe 2 granary 3 white, would it be more cost affective to get a bread maker and where's the best place to buy one?

You don't necessarily need to get a bread makers to make your own bread. I usually just make the dough from a bread baking mix from tescos and then put it in the oven. It doesn't get as high as in the bread maker but it's still delicious and does not take up more than 15 minutes preparation time (excluding the resting of the dough in between). Saves you a couple of pounds for not buying a bread maker...

Located in our Complete Breadmaking Collection there is a thread called "To make own bread or not" which might be a useful read and help answer some of your questions.

Also, a very recent thread, currently running, "I've got a breadmaker" mentions a couple of places which OS'er have bought BM's from.

    HTH :)
