Ah, that could well be why then. Next time I'm at the green grocers I shall pick one up and try a little, if not so lucky, I'm sure my boyfriend would it it! He eats pretty much everything.Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3650

I find that for people who think they don't enjoy vegetable very much is to not necessarily steam them but to cook them with something else like the aforementioned leeks in cheese sauce which is delicious, and then inevitably cauliflower cheese, soups and stews. Neeps and tatties is another good one and I made a celeriac and parsnip bake last week which turned out particularly well and received favourable reports from a pal who'd never tried celeriac before0

If you're unsure about the leeks, I would try one in a recipe before you jump straight to "leeks in cheese sauce"!
I find MOST leeks are OK in moderation for me, but some are particularly strong and "oniony", and they can have distressing consequences...0 -
I found an easy way to steam veg is to cheat and nuke them. I put sugar snaps, green beans, shredded cabbage, spinach, or any other green veg into a bowl, cover it with cling film and stick it in the micro for two minutes for a bit of crunch, or three for more wilted leaves.
Serve with a dollop of sweet chilli sauce stirred through..... make a great side dish for lots of things. Or eat a bowl of it with a bit of naan bread to mop up the remaining chilli dribbles. Ace.Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Well, I've just had my dinner. Stir fried kale and grated carrot with ginger and lime juice. Served with noodles and oven baked chicken. It was lovely. I wasn't too sure about the kale to begin with, but I guess that's just a new taste and texture needing to be tried a few times. The ginger and lime juice was lovely mixed with the kale and noodles and it was really nice.
Thanks for the suggestions with the kale.Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3650
