Best deal............Best Advisor/Broker

Looking to possibly move our interest only mortgage at end of present 2 year deal, and increase it from 40k to maybe 135k on a 450k property. Main drawback is husband will retire (on a good pension) in 12 months.
Any suggestions where to go for the lowest rate? Would like to be able to make some capital repayments, but ok with being tied in for say 3 years.
Thought it would be a good idea to see a broker, have looked in Yellow pages but the names mean nothing to me. None of our friends have used a broker, so no help there. How can I find out who best to approach?
We are in Glasgow.

Just to broaden the spectrum - there are plenty of other fee's free brokers. if you prefer to do things face to face you could find a local respected broker and use them instead. as I've said in my previous posts you are more likely to get the individual attention you deserve and build up a long term trusting relationship with your broker like this, rather than using a broker from a mcdonalds culture.I am a Mortgage Adviser

Thanks, a good local broker is what we need, the problem is how to find one.0

Your best bet would be to ask friends or family for a recommendation - if they have had a good experience they should be able to helpI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. We don't have any family left unfortunately, and none of my friends have used a broker, so we have no idea how to proceed.
Is there much difference between brokers?
Should I choose some from the phone book and ring them?
What are the questions to ask?0
