Hi So today me an o/h went to his 6month on jsa meeting, and we put it to them about o/h Apprenticing in welding or Computer programming, but the problem they're having is finding employer willing to take anyone on,

So as me as o/h have been attending Business seminars through Business link/chambers, in order to set up a business making alternative clothing for children, we suggested if by chance could we go through newdeal for self employment, well on 3rd march we are to have an interview with Fast link solutions, to see if he thinks our business ideas are viable,

Im just a little unsure atm about business idea, my partner wants to build guitars and amps, as we only has the equipment/space to build amps thats the way to go, as for me I want to make crafty items varing from Alternative aprons, bags, Jewellery, Cradle Paintings and once we got a steady regular income with o/hs business i can take little extra time to make childrens clothing .

Just wondering if anyone has used fls, or is/was self employed crafster?

That sounds like a fab idea, I love crafting but am not very good at it!

It might be worth posting on the Special Occasions and Old Style board - I think there are people on there who make an income from various crafts.
