Hi all. I'd be really grateful for any advice!

  • It might be worth checking if you are eligible for any grants from charities or schemes to help with the cost https://www.turn2us.org.uk

  • we replaced our boiler last year, NOT through BG who were quoting enormous amount s of money, but through a local Corgi registered engineer. Total cost for all singing all dancing latest model boiler was £1100 including labour and a five year guarantee. We have quite a big house with a heat sucking conservatory and it does the job fine and my bills have fallen as well.

  • Who are you setting your DMP up with? I think as the worst of winter (hopefully) is over then you may be in a position to save for a new boiler.

I would just proceed with the saving for the boiler in your application, or add the cost into one of your other expenses. This is heating and hot water - you need it, no-one should deprive you of that.

    Hi Isis,

Have you looked at the Warm Front scheme? I've just had a brand new boiler from them fully funded. I think you need to be in receipt of certain benefits but it might be worth a look?
