Top One for me...
I'm also not sure about those balls and the big ribbon.

Lol - i like to think i am quite creative and not too boring but i don't "get" the black balls either LOLBaldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?0 -
Thanks guys! The 'balls' are instead of pillars, they do the cake in different colours and I've seen the same in pink and gold, which you can see better on those pics as the balls are sparkly.
I like the first one more and OH likes the 2nd one more (because it looks bigger), and the 2nd one will feed more people.
I think if we don't get a M&S cake, it will be one of the above!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I think I'd prefer the bottom one, without the giant ribbon though, I think it sort of blocks the design. I think the bottom one would be really striking as you walked into the room because of the design whereas the top one would be with the colour and detailing on the icing, if that make sense.
OH is going to be picking our cake too, as he wants a traditional one0 -
Prefer the top one. But it might be because i've got a phobia of flutterbyes. Can't even bring myself to type the correct word. I think the bottom one just looks like a cake with some black lace tbh.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

im having a black and white cake also, this is what we are asking our cakemaker to try and recreate0 -

I think she means the lacey ribbon.
I prefer the shape of the top one with the design of the bottom one! lol just to be awkward!
Couldnt u ask the cakemaker for a mix of the two, that way you and OH will both get what u want! What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -

What lacey ribbon? (Damn that missing confused smilie lol!)
The ribbon around the base of each cake is identical to the ribbon coming from the bow. They have just twirled it around that's all.
Can't ask for a mix, they are just as they come.
It's not a cake maker you see, it's a bakery that make cakes over the North West and they get sent to your nearest shop for pick up, bit like how M&S work.
Both cakes are £230 each which considering they will feed over 150, is a bargain!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

Yes i think thats the ribbon she means. By lace i think shes referring to the organza ribbon.
