thank you I will have to look into it. We only need one suit for groom and one for my teen son. we would definitely need to try on before ordering so burtons are already not any good for us!
and btw question in general to everyone is it cheaper to hire than to buy? partner wears smart clothes to work as in an office so i was thinking it might be cheaper to buy a nice suit he can use there as well and then dress up with fancy tie etc? sorry if i sound clueless but i am when it comes to menswear.... well and ladies wear too when its for weddings

Angel - it depends on the wedding and how formal or informal it is - it is cheaper to hire a wedding suit & ascot than it is to buy as he would only wear it once. However, if its less formal then buying a suit is ok. As for wedding dresses again it depends on what you want and would suggest that you look in a few shops (go in March when their sales are on) and you can pick up something there. Look in Monsoon or employ a dressmaker to make you one (lindaatno9 is MSE's resident dressmaker). There's lots of free advice on this forum so make use of it and if you have any particular query on the planning side of things set up your own thread and ask and I will answer your questions as will others.0 -

We bought my DF's suit - it's not a particularly formal wedding so he's just wearing a normal single breasted thing (but he does look especially gorgeous in it!). We would have had to buy the tie anyway because you can't hire royal blue (apparently it's not a popular wedding colour) so it would have been about £50 to hire his suit as opposed to £95 to buy it (full price, Next). Plus he can wear suit for anything else posh he goes to...0 -
Yeah, I'm a man too. Posted quite a bit on here. I've taken a big active role in the wedding plans, after all, it's my day as much as the brides!

Have wandered in here a few times, and posted a few threads asking for assistance and have been promptly pointed in the right direction.
That Franny is very helpful, although does have some expensive advice.
PS Franny, I did get the laboutains for her
