Holiday-Let Bonds

Hi
We recently returned from Australia where we rented a number of properties, the first of which was in Perth, WA.
For this property (Ocean Provinence - check out the Stayz.com.au website, ref 57226) we paid a bond of $500 AUS which was to be returned 14 days after we vacated the property and was to cover cleaning, damage etc.
We left the property in a cleaner state than when we arrived (we had to change and wash the sheets when we got there after a 36 hour journey) and there was certainly no damage.
We left the property on 28 December, bound for Sydney and didn't think any more about the bond until we returned to the UK on 11 January.
When we returned home, my wife emailed the owners and they said they needed more bank details in order to refund our bond. We supplied these as requested but, despite several reminder emails, we heard no more.
Until this week, that is, when we received an email from the property owners saying that they weren't returning our bond because we'd stayed an extra night (?!?!?) and the cleaners said that the property required 'excessive cleaning'.
We replied to the email strongly disputing both points but have heard no more.
With the property (and owners) being in Australia, I don't know where we stand from a legal perspective and don't know where to go next.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
