I know many of you look for great undies. Elizabeth Wells is a Yorkshire based lingerie shop but does do mail order.
There is a sale on at present on certain items so it may be worth a look.

I heart those satin knickers with the bow at the side...but I am pretty sure I have got a pattern for something similar!
The corsets are beautiful though, now that is one area where you get what you pay for :-)I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Thing is, would some of us be able to actually get a corset under our wedding dress? And would we need one with some of the boning already in the dress?
Linda, what do you suggest?0 -
i think most structured wedding dresses come with a corset already?! there's some very pretty lingerie on bridesmagazine.co.uk if you go to fashion and then lingerie:)
elle macpherson is my favourite!0 -
Oooh, I might need one of their corsets.. But not for the wedding day as they seem to change your measurements which would make my dress not fit!
Honeymoon wear, perhaps...:D Although, can a girl lace herself into one?

Ok, many won't be able to get corsets under dresses. If the dress is snug, adding a corset may require letting the gown out to accomodate it. The reason being. When I make my gowns I start with the foundations. The corset can consist of several layers of fabric, 2 which can be boned and then a lining/further fabrics. This ADDS to the measurement. I then fit the outer dress or the 'fashion fabric' over the top.
When looking for wedding dresses it is always adviseable to wear the corset when you make your order. You are starting with the foundation and then building on that. Wearing the corset determins the required size of gown to order. Most certainly you need to wear it when the fittings are due. Corsets enhance your figure but can add mm's to the body shape.
If your gown is heavily corseted then the need for an additional one is not necessary. If it is to purely give the groom a treat then there are some super lightweight ones (jupon actually do some smashing ones which I may look into having)
I love corsets, just adding one into a dress for my 14 year old's dress. She loves them. They give great posture and make you feel like everything is holding you where it should be. Don't be tempted to by cheap however. Think of it as an investment. I'm sure it can be used again and again.;)0 -
