Intrum Justitia - Offering full and final

I have a small (compared to my other debts) outstanding balance with intrum Justitia from a catalogue. It is about £350. Do you think if I offered them a lower amount in full and final settlement they would accept. Does anyone have any experience of this? If so how much would you offer and should I do it by letter or by phone.

Thanks

I did it with them, I rang & asked them for a figure which was about 40% of total. if you ask them, they will give you a date which it will be valid until (pay by) which was about 14-21 days (i think).

    good luck! ;)

I did mine with them via e-mail. I knew I would bottle it a bit on the phone so I went onto the website, found an e-mail address and went for it.

do you still have the email address - if so could you pm me with it. What did you offer them and what was their response.

    sammy,

have you defaulted on it? If you haven't, they are unlikely to accept - the worse your payment record, the lower the figure they are likely to take...

    Hi

Yes its the only one I have a default on. They were pretty quick to default me. I only ask really because I its such a small amount and as I have just had a payout off my standard life shares I thought it would be a psychological boost to get rid of it.

In fact I would be willing to pay it in full, if by any chance they would remove the default off my credit record.
