I've done the one from this thread in the recipe index and its fab. I'm not clever enough to post a link I'm afraid but I went via the Feb grocery challenge scroll down to Recipe index main meals and it s all in alphabetical order but look under C for cheese not L for lentils!:D Can recommend and my meat loving hubby loved it too, we had it hot with baked beans and also cold with salad for lunch next day
oh and with regards to cheese I used a low fat hard chedder as we're on diets and it still tasted great- Make 2023 in 2023 # £00/2023

That is the one I use as well - linkie here. I tend to use porridge oats rather than breadcrumbs, and I vary the vegetables and herbs according to what I have in - last time think it was celery and leeks with dried oregano. Tastes great every time0

Just wanted to pop on and say I made the recipe recommended by Allegra and it was absolutely lovely. I shall now work my way through the other recipes. Thanks everyone.0

This is my first post on this board so please be gentle...:)
I've seen some great tips here about bulking out bolognese/chilli etc with red lentils, so the other day I bought some split red lentils in the supermarket but what do I do with them? Do I just add them to the pan with the mince and homemade sauce or do they need other prep?
Sorry if this is a stupid question but any answers gratefully received0 -

I add 2 or 3 large spoonfuls to pasta sauce, soups, stews well most stuff. They cook quickly and help thicken dishes. most times they just blend into the sauce and you wouldn't know they were there. I chuck cans of red beans (app 20p) in lot's of recipes and grate carrots in, my OH hates carrots and he doesn't notice them even in homemade burgers0
