Just about to start my DMP with Payplan, 45k debt paying £700 a month.
Three things bothering me.
Have heard unless you pay at least 1% a month creditors will consider a ccj against you, is this true?
One of my debts is a very recent balance transfer, does this make a difference to the creditors reaction to a DMP?
Can a charging order be put on your house if you are a joint owner and your partner has nothing to do with the DMP, ie, it is yours alone?
Any answers please.

Hi Prof
I can give you the benefit of a very bizarre conversation my OH had with HBOS. He owes around £13000 on his CC and through CCCS we have offered £89.19 (very precise). He asked them why they had ignored the offer and continued to pile on interest and charges. The guy said they were waiting for him to phone??? and they would reduce the interest to 6% (from 26.9%) because we were PAYING TOO MUCH to be considered for 0%. He also said the last thing the bank wanted was to cause hardship!!!!. So I reckon this is well under 1% but would we have been better to offer less, thereby not attracting charges and interest? I've said it loads but I just do not understand how these banks work, bizarre, unfair and just ludicrous???More than Two Years in

Thanks PDD, there seems to be no logic to the decisions the banks make. BoS actually told me to contact Payplan so suppose that's something positive?LBM Jan 2010. DFD 2016.

I suppose that may count for you. Personally we have found almost everyone quite good, its just HBOS and Lloyds TSB who are been downright obstructive, Lloyds in particular are just awful. It really riles me because I know we've got debt but we are trying to pay it back and if you think about these particular banks are in the exact same position, we just don't have a convienient pile of suckers like us to squeeze the money out of. I keep thinking that they have a duty to be reasonable but it seems not to apply to them.More than Two Years in

Just out of interest. Can I be cheeky and ask how much you owe and your monthly payments, my nerves are shredded thinking about my DMP being accepted and any positive stories cheer me up slightly, so pleased you have found almost everyone quite good.LBM Jan 2010. DFD 2016.

Can a charging order be put on your house if you are a joint owner and your partner has nothing to do with the DMP, ie, it is yours alone?
Has anyone responded to this question yet, would be interested to know from any legal brains on this matter?0
