Letter from Chantry Collections

Hi all,
Hoping you can help with this one. I have recieved a letter from a company called Chantry collections (dated mid Jan) which was adressed to a flat that I left in September.
They are advising that I owe them £810 but the letter fails to mention why. They are also stating that they have a "January sale" on and that I could have saved £350 by settling in Jan.
I have no idea what this could possibly be relating to, and I've never heard of them before. Of course, I do not want them to get hold of my existing address (not least because its my parents place!)
How would you suggest that I go about obtaining information about this supposed debt?

We advise writing, but since you do no want them to have the new address that might be difficult. If you do not wish to write then you will have to ring, note they will likely be very pushy on the phone and even bully you so be prepared.
How did you get the letter if they don't have your address anyway?
The best reply we suggest is the prove it letter. You could always try and email them. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=11570893&postcount=2

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
Forwarded by the previous letting agent.
I like that "prove it" letter. Presumably it would be just as valid sent by email?Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0
