Loan at Natwest where i bank

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any replies!

I have a meeting with the financial advisor at my bank tomorrow, basically I have gotten myself into a bit of a financial mess and i intend on asking for a loan of around 1600 pounds to pay off the debts and then to just pay the bank back rather than different payments coming out at different times of the month, just to get ontop of things.

Anyway the question is, i don't think my credit rating will be very good at all due to missing previous payments with other creditors so does anyone know what Natwest would do to help one of their customers consolidate debts as in what would the chances of me getting a loan off them be?

Any answers will be a great insight so thanks to anyone who replies!

  • chances dont sound good tbh, they may look at your account and see how thats been run in recent months or they may do a credit check, either way if they do offer you a loan on £1600 the apr would be high
what are you paying off?how much and at what apr`s?
  • If you do not have any success, you may find speaking to your creditors individually useful as unless they are aware of your situation then they are not likely to offer assistance to you. They can be understanding if you make them aware of your situation and can often come up with payment plans.

Try Payplan too if things are getting on top of you: http://www.payplan.com/

To be honest though, if you are only needing £1600 - this is a very manageable amount - try reducing your non essential outgoings and this will free up your disposable income to help pay off your essential outgoings
  • Hi - I was in the same situation a few years ago, applied with Natwest for a loan of £2000 -I had been with them for about 15 years with my current account. They initially declined the loan over the phone, but I went into the branch, and had a chat with them - they were extremely good, checked out my account history and had no problems approving a loan for me that day, over 2 years for £100 a month.

Fully paid that off a year ago now,and I would definately recommend them.

The chances are very slim under the circumstances youve outlined.

You might be better off exploring another route as ste_coxy suggested.
