Thanks Nanna58
It really means a lot to know we are not the only ones going throught this.
Yeah you are right about the banks and thats whats making us so mad. The minute they got into trouble all us tax payers bailed them out n what do we get back in return nothing but hassle. The bank were all very good at helping us with setting up our business a loan here, a couple of large overdrafts and credit cards coz as they said thats how business works - aye right! The minute we could no longer carry on then bam they were on us like a ton of bricks - ba*****s lol.
Hopefully we will all be out this mess one day or maybe we might win the euromillions - wishful thinking. Ah well work again tomorrow. No rest for the wicked.
Thanks again. XX0 -

I hope you don't mind me asking but how long will it be before you are debt free?
I am roughly about 5 years now unless they whack loads of interest and charges on.0 -
hi el skinto,
god ages before we are debt free! i've worked it out that with RBS we will probably by free from them in another 24 months - i actually think thats quite good going for 24 grand of debt! (we've been paying this £600 for a year and a half) however, we have another £8000 loan with abbey and a few credit cards totalling aroung £7000 - my plan is that when we've paid RBS, i use some of this extra £600 per month to go towards the other debts - i'm hoping about another 4 years but who knows - everytime i work it all out something happens (car trouble, vet bills etc) and it knackers it up - these forums help though with money saving tips x"never look down on anyone.....unless you're helping them up"0 -
Whoa thats impressive - £24K in that short space of time - good on you! I'm so impressed.
I'm hoping to to find some weekend work but there aint much out there at the moment. If I could get that then we could get ours down to 3 years. Thats me just wishful thinking - i suppose every little helps though.
I'm never off this site however this is only the second time i've posted anything.
I wonder if i should join that long haul supporter thread as it looks like i'll be here for a good while yet. lol.0 -
Morning Guys - Time for an update.
Well didn't manage to sleep too well last night, i felt ok when i logged of this site but as soon as my head hit the pillow bam all these nasty thoughts were racing through my head!!!
Anyway managed to speak to CCCS this morning and can you belive it they said they would need to get someone to contact me from there Scotland Team - i have never spoken to them before. Basically they said they could not help me anymore as the legal system is different up here. Aarrgh!! They have been telling me not to worry too much all along and now they are saying they don't know.
Anyway someone did call me back and basically have advised me to go and see a money adviser (which is the orginal route that we took at the start) to see if we can change it over to a DAS and then this would stop the court proceedings. The girl did say that there shouldn't be a problem with this but i explained to her that the money adviser wouldnt do this when we first approached them last year and told us to "struggle on". She did say that as we have court papers they propably could.
I'm still worried but really hoping to get this changed on to a DAS now. It's just a waiting game til we get an appointment with a money adviser again.
Has anyone managed to change it over to a DAS and how quickly did it happen?0 -
Just to let you know the latest. We were advised from CCCS to contact the solicitor to see what the minium payment would be they have said £130 which is £47 more a month than we pay at the moment.
After a long discussion to the solicitors they have said that we can pay them the extra £47 a month and not tell CCCS (CCCS refused to up the payment to them as they said this was not fair on the other creditors.
I am really frightened about going to court so i am thinking about just paying them the £130 and that will be the end of it. The solicitor said that this will stop court proceedings.
At the moment I can only see this as the way forward. What do you think?0 -
A solicitor told you to up the payment but not tell CCCS.
Sounds dodgy ground to me.
Sounds dodgy solicitor too.

Hi thewad
Yeah i know what you mean about it sounding dodgy but what do you reakon i should do then?
This is by no means a small solicitors they are pretty big up here. Really still unsure what to do, got someone from CCCS phoning on monday morning and still not sure whether to answer the phone and just go ahead with the solicitor. I just want it to stop and not go to court!! However i also want to win the lottery and the thing is i suppose you dont always get what you want.
Thanks for the advice.0
