Property with Studio Flat Potential

Hi MSEs,

We would really appreciate your advice on this...

We have had an offer accepted on a three storey house, which has been split into two - the top floors, garden and garage make up the house, and the ground floor has been seperated for a self-contained studio flat.

We are currently in the process of getting a mortgage, we are first time buyers with a 10% deposit, but when we throw in the house/flat scenario and the fact that we hope to rent the studio flat out the lenders start to retract their offers...

Do you have any advice... we could turn the whole thing back into a house, but were quite enjoying the fact that we could get some help paying the mortgage.

Many thanks

Martha and Luke
