    Hi Redrose,

Have read somewhere on the site about a wheetabix cake, went down quite well.

Sorry not sure how to get back to it.

I have a basic be-ro cook book which has some good things in.

Fruit crumble mixture you can make and keep in the fridge for a few days.
Are you planning on freezing what you bake?

I agree the Be Ro cookbook is the best and easiest basic recipee book. ORder one here http://www.be-ro.co.uk/f_basics.htm or just look at the site for recipees.
Best and smallest cookbook you will ever need.

Recipee book is in te 'about us' section £1.50p

Thanks N9eav, just had a look at the site, and ordered a book.

Didn;t think these where still going i remember my nanna and mam having one of these when i was a child.

In the meantime i think i will have a go at some of the simple cake reciepes.

For a quick and easy cake with minimal mess I also recommend the weetabix cake. My family love it with a slight spread of butter on it. It takes about 5 minutes to prepare.
If you do a search for "weetabix" on this forum you'll find it.
I make two a week to keep family satisfied. They all think it tastes much better than shop bought.
Not really into baking cakes but quite enjoy making this.
    Good luck
