I think there are two extra considerations . ....
1: Diamonds are an internationally traded commodity, like oil, bullion and currency there is always a minimum trading value. Explore leading fine diamond etail sites like Bluenile.com in America and DiamondGeezer.com in the U.K, both have completely 'transparent', detailed lists of independently CERTIFICATED diamonds which share and explain all the diamonds attributes. In fact they pretty much tell you everything BUT the colour of the cutters eyes. Reality, consistency and detailed certification by respected, impartial leading gem labs. rules. (GIA, HRD, AGS etc.) sold by respected, verified etailers.
2. Amazon list their fees to Market Place vendors of fine jewellery at 25% of VAT included selling price (that's ~ 30% of net price) so these 'grey' vendors that you feature have to find another 30% to deduct from their earnings.
THINKS: If its too good to be real, it probably isn't real?0 -

MSE lazy and poor journalism demonstrated yet again. Martin why not buy one of these rings yourself and see how much you lose/make?0

The original price of the treated diamonds (clarity enhanced) is of the original raw diamond, they assume that it is natural when they "recommend" a price and then put a different price because it has been treated; they lower it because treated diamonds will show the yellow discolration under a gemscope and they anticipate that because most people who buy diamonds would want it to be certified. Also GIA and AGS would not certify it, so effectively they are uncertified diamonds.0

I can see this has come back up as a topic again!
These are still around on Amazon.... Don't be fooled by 60, 70, 80 and 90% off, this isn't a genuine discount - it is because they are imperfect and uncertified..0 -
