Decided NOT to call my local just in case they DID HAVE SOME and if the price was displayed as an OBVIOUS £2 then it might vanish into staff coffers before they tell me about it.
So I visit and there isn't any on the shelves
I go to Customer Services and ask if they can do a product search on their computer system.
I give them the barcode and it confirms it's NOT an item stocked at this store.

She queries what it is I'm looking for just in case the barcode is wrong.
I tell her and suggest looking for OFFENBACH.

SOMEBODY HAD OBVIOUSLY BEEN THERE (OR CALLED) BEFORE ME :eek: LOOKING FOR IT :eek:

She had only got as far as typing in OFFEN when the system offered OFFENBACH ROSE as a previously entered search parameter.

Anyway it confirmed it was NOT a stocked product at this store but expanding to look for others nearby revealed a couple that did have it.
One (the nearest - about 3 miles across town) actually had some (about 3 cases) and the other store was out of stock.

The screen did show £37.99 as "normal" price - did say something about "Promotion" and "40% off" - so didn't look too good.

So anyway I popped across town, found it on the shelf and found the SEL. £19

I took a bottle to a till and got a price check. :j :j £2 :j :j

Found a trolley and helped myself to TWELVE bottles :beer:

No problems buying them, no query over quantity or price.

BETTER STILL - over 6 bottles = 5% discount - so only £22.80 (£1.90 a bottle) AND 44 NECTAR points


CANNOT UNDERSTAND why they've EXPIRED the offer on hotukdeals. ?????????????????

When CS expanded the search for ALL Sainsburys, loads of stores all over the UK had it in stock - one store had over 30 cases of the stuff
