Videographers

We are having a friend do our photos as their gift, but I really want a professional video done. What have other people paid for this? I have been quoted £695 - is that good?

i got a better price then whats on his web site, and cant wait to have my wedding videoed by him ive seen abit of his work and its excellent
take a look on his web site and see for yourself
  • Where are you based, and what do you get for £695? How many cameras/ camera operators will be attending, how long will they be filming from and to? Have you seen work from previous weddings? But I would say £695 is a good price, depending upon some of the answers to my questions above!

The wedding is in West Sussex, and the quote is for 1 camera from 2pm until 8.30pm. It is a small wedding (50 guests) and the wedding is in a hotel so everything is in one venue. I have seen examples of his work on his website, and I think it is excellent, but I'm a novice with videographers and have no idea of general costs. I have seen some other websites where they are quoting £1500 or so for weddings, so compared to that, it is a good price. This is my 2nd wedding, and last time I got a couple of college students to do it which cost £150. Looking at the examples from the guy who has quoted me, shows up the cheap one I got last time as being totally carp!

Ours cost around the £900 mark for one camera from about 1pm to 9pm. I think this is a good price as long as you are happy with the samples of work that you have seen.

I know some of my friends ended up cutting the video from their budget but if you can afford it I would highly recommend it. We love our video and watched it on our first anniversary last year and it's great to have a 'moving picture' of the day which captures somethings that photos just can't get.

Check what you get in the package - i.e. I assume your copy will be included, but ask how much guests will have to pay for their copy. I don't know, but if enough guests buy copies then maybe he can do you some kind of discount?

    Good luck with the planning!
