Payplan - Am I doing the right thing?

Hi All
I have a quick question. I've been with Payplan now for quite a few years and I still have an outstanding balance of £6927.44 which I'm paying at £106 per month. To be honest I'm struggling to pay this much as my partner isn't working and can't claim benefits (we recently got married and she's a non UK citizen) so my salary's paying for both of us.
My question is am I going about this in the best way? At this rate I won't be out of debt until November 2015!! I'm sick of being skint all the time and obviously my credit rating is completely down the toilet.
Any advice or opinions welcome.
Many Thanks

I would give payplan a call and say you're struggling to make your payment. If you cant offer at least £100/month to your creditors very often a DMP isnt suitable and they may suggest looking at alternatives (debt relief order for example)
Your partner working would obviosuly be a great help but i'm assuming she's having difficulties finding a job for whatever reason, unless there is another issue of some kind?
Hope that helps a little, hopefully some more experienced posters will be along to help you!February Grocery Challenge- £140/£200 Spent.

Thanks for your comments! The reason my other half can't work at the moment is because she's waiting for her further leave to remain to come through from the home office. To be honest even when she's been able to work it's been dribs and drabs but she was previously on a working holiday maker visa which meant she was having to do agency work. Let's hope she's able to find something permanent when the FLR comes through
