JSA - Where is my Money?

Hi :)

I was meant to sign on at the job centre last friday, However i was ill and was unable to attend, so i rang in and they explained that they would send me out a form/slip for me to fill in and send back ASAP, The letter arrived Saturday morning, and i posted it Saturday evening, I was meant to receive my money on Wednesday the 10th, Its Thursday the 11th and its still not there? Why could this be? Where is the money? I have bills to pay etc..

Please Help :(

Ah yeh sorry. It appears that there's been a slight delay with the payment processing. Also, Royal Mail have had a few problems with their local distribution lately so some applications are arriving later than expected.

Seriously, why are you asking us? Why don't you ring up and ask them directly?

I had this happen to me. The claim was processed once they had received the paperwork back so there was about a weeks delay in the payment.

i do think your hoping to much to get a turnaround that quick for post to come to you and then go back to them, then for someone to process the application and then 3-4 working days for money to be BACS (assuming this is how it is done) acrossed

phone them up as Proc said
    Always ask ACAS

its all very well saying phone them up but getting on the phone is a nightmare you cant just pick up the phone and get throught to someone and get it solved these days. Its engaged, or your hanging on forever or you get passed from pillar to post.

I would say if anything go down there.

At least these "clowns" have jobs unlike the people calling them names.
  • When my daughter was unemployed, she couldn't sign on one morning due to severe vomiting and diarrhoea. The JC sent the form out, but also told me (I rang on her behalf) that payment of her JSA would be delayed by a few days.
  • So the form was sent back to them on the Monday... it would have arrived on Tuesday/Wednesday... it would then have reached the relevant employee dealing with it some time after that.

You're too optimistic to think you would have been paid as usual on Wednesday. Why don't you call them and ask where the process currently stands?
