Used the automatic letter generator, sent it off, offered 2.5k which we will accept :-)
Thanks!0 -
Policy Seller: Leeds Permanent (taken over by Halifax, now HBOS).
Policy Provider: Norwich Union
Good news! My wife and I have just received money from NU totalling £3200 as settlement for our mis-selling claim on our £75K endowment policy.
I honestly didn't think it was going to be worth it, but after reading all the information and help on this site it seemed stupid not to try.
Filling in the forms was relatively easy and we actually got really quick service from the NU "complaints" department.
Thanks.0 -

SELLER- ORIGINAL SELLER BUCKELL & BALLARD, NOW BRADFORD AND BINGLEY
PAY OUT £1100
A success story, this endowment ran from 1988 to 1996 when it was cashed in. I thought I had nothing to lose from making a claim via Martins standard letter. To cut a long story short the problem became theirs and resulted in a nice little pay out on a Policy that I thought was long dead in the water. Considering the original seller is no longer in buisness.......this is a result!
Thanks Martin, the next rounds on me mate!! :beer:0 -
Legal and general
Pay out 9,500
We made a bit of a booboo on this as we hadn't seen your site properly before. We went through a third party to help with reclaiming as we had little confidence enough ourselves to do it and also the policy was surrender over 2 years ago and honestly didn't think we would get a thing back. We gained this compensation but now have to pay 25% of it the third party for a couple of calls and a couple of letters. So so ticked about it but then again it was us who decided to go with them. So now hubby is asking for a breakdown of work provided before we pay their fee. Who knows they may drop some of the charges but I doubt very much they will. Not in debt at the moment, but been there in the past and realise I'm the kind of person who could easily fall back into it with the self destructing spending button so making sure I keep on top of being a good girl.

Halifax (Leeds Perm) and Standard Life
£6713 on a £45,000 endowment from 1988 - still running.
Thank you very much indeed for the site.

Provider: Guardian Financial Services
Seller: Nationwide
Story:
Bought in 1994 to fund 40k mortgage. Decided in 2004 to cut my losses and cash in, changing to a repayment mortgage.
Thought I'd not have a chance of compen due to having sold policy, but gave it a go through the Endowmentaction website 29th September 2006. After an acknowledgment letter from Nationwide passing the buck to Guardian I received fairly simple forms from Guardian to substantiate the claim. Filled these in and returned them then got a letter back yesterday offering £5500 compensation :j
Many thanks Martin :beer:0 -
Policy with : Winterthur Life, through Halifax
Compensation: just over £2k
I am sooo happy, as this was quick to resolve and as I had paid off my mortgage a couple of years ago (due to family bereavement I inherited a house), I didn't think I would have any claim at all as I couldn't prove I would stand to lose anything in 17 years time !
Now, endowment still running as I didn't get round to doing anything about this before I found this website so I am trotting off to another forum to get advice on what to do with it now.:D
Thank you Martin and to other posters for all the great advice I have found on this website.:beer:I was going to take over the world but got distracted by something sparkly.......0 -

Took out an Endownment policy with Axa in 1999 for £48000 its current projected short fall is £6000.
Received a letter this morning to say my claim has been upheld an offer will follow in 14 days.
The claim is being upheld based on my salary at the time of taking out the endownment, they have admitted this was the wrong option to have been offered.
I'll keep you posted of the compensation amount.
Thanks to Martin and everyone else who has helped me, greatly appreciated.0 -
Read Martins article and thought sod it I'll give it a go.
Down loaded comsumer letter and sent it off to Friends provident. Got letter back saying that it was Britannia BS who sold the FP policy so deal with them.
Sent letter to Britannia and got back big form to fill in asking for backup info.
TIP.... fill form in carefully!!
8 weeks later was offered £6.5k as settlement.
