Hi. I'm due to meet with my photographer tomorrow and know I need to start making lists of the photos I would like. Can anyone give me some ideas. I don't want to miss any but the list seems massive before we even get out of bridesmaids and parents.
Thanks

Ask your photographer if he has a list already done that you can add to or remove shots. its a good starting point.
Most photograpers do now as it makes it so much easier. Most photographer know what minimum shots to take anyway its just the additional ones that they need to list, its also handy to give this list to your ushers or othe responsible person so that they can round people up for their photos abd saves time, i went to a wedding where all the guests nearly missed the photos cos everyone went straight to the bar and no one called then out for photo's.
Heres a cool site with a VIP list and photo checlist and loads of other useful photograper tips to consider.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T

I know it probably seems obvious but write a list of the ones you really want first. I overlooked asking for a photo of just me and my 2 children and also a shot of me, hubby and children outside. I only have one photo of us altogether on the day and that was at the table when we signed the register. I was convinced I had chosen every photo we wanted and was busy making sure I had the different family shots that I overlooked the obvious. It's the only thing that I wish I could change on the day0

When I meet with clients I try and stick to this list
Big Group Shot
B&G with Brides Parents
B&G and Brides Grandparents
B&G and Brides Siblings
B&G with Grooms Parents
B&G and Grooms Grandparents
B&G and Grooms Siblings
B&G and their children
B&G and the wedding party (BMs, Groomsmen)
The worst thing you can do is ask your photographer for too many group shots. You wont enjoy it, your guests wont enjoy it and you photographer definately wont enjoy it!
Karen xIt all works out good in the end.If it's not good, it's not the end!0 -
Thank you I'm trying to find the happy medium between realising I don't have pics of someone included and spending six hours taking photos of every combination I can think of.0

I usually try to tweak the first one on Karen's list:
A shot of everyone, all your guests, maybe outside your venue, this shot from above or during a confetti throwing session has been popular for a couple of years now, beats the shot of each table taken later ... just an idea - enjoy your day !Hiring a wedding photographer? Remember to check out their samples and previous work before you book !

Personally, we are going for as few "group" shots as possible - with the second photographer hopefully getting all the best non-posed "relaxing" shots of our guests.... I'm not a great fan of waiting around at Weddings for every combination and permutation of guests for group photos so want to keep ours as short as possible.... to be honest, the group photos will only really be there to appease the older family members who will inevitably request them.0
