mothers day gifts for church ladies

we have a baptism at our church on Mothering Sunday - have been asked if the children in church could present somthing to all the ladies present. we have not done this in many years as there are alot of ladies in the church and only a few children - it is a big batismal party and we will have alot more children than usual, also alot more ladies. i am looking for a cheap easy craft activity that the children can do to present the ladies with and also that i can get a few people to make extra in their spare time so as we have plenty to go round and extra's for those on the membership who are housebound or unwell. we dont want anything too messy as the children in the baptismal party will be dressed up and i dont want to send them off covered in paint or chocolate!!
i know you lot are great at coming up with ideas and any would be greatly appreciated.
thanks for your time vix!

those look great - as i need about 120 i could get people to make about 10 each and do the other 20 with the kids - just get some sweets to put in each.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. I remember giving out posies of flowers - we got a heap of cheap daffodils and spent our 'craft time' making posies of 5 flowers tied with a bit of ribbon. Very simple, easy to do...0

How about a little basket like this made from card and filled with some sweets, could also make these? The basket is very quick and easy to make.
