endowments maturing before end of mortgage term?

I have realised that my 2 endowments are maturing (2014) 2 years before the mortgage term ends(2016). I don'y know why this is the case as I thought when taking them out that the dates would coincide.
What would be the advice be to deal with this? Is it an advantage to me or not? Happy for any advice.

When you get the 2 endowments you could pay the money off the mortgage and see if that will clear the mortgage or you need to carry on paying for the last 2 years!
This depends on how well the endowments are doing ?
Try to ensure that come 2014 your mortgage is not tied so you can clear /pay a lump sum off
