Best time for endowment valuation?

We have an endowment policy due to mature in 2 years. We changed part of mortgage to repayment as endowment was not on target!(no surprise there). The valuation of the policy at the moment is just over £1000 more than we need so are thinking of surrendering it and paying off a lump sum of the mortgage. Does anyone know the best time of the month to get a valuation figure? I know this can change daily and is not guaranteed but read somewhere that the end of the month is the best time to get a figure.
Anyone any ideas?

Valuation figures tend to fluctuate according to bonus announcements rather than time of the month.A lot of providers are issuing statements at the moment so there may be quite big changes, eg reduction of terminal bonuses.

In any case they will change the figure if anything dramatic happens between it being issued and an actual payout made.

With a unit linked policy of course the timing is irrelevant.
