I would suggest you never pay anyone an upfront fee to find you a loan, you will find a lot of cases where this is in effect a scam and they either keep the money or only find you a loan with a ridiculous APR. What company was this? if you do a search on this forum for that name you may find people who have already lost their money (and not ended up with a loan).
I imagine you would find it almost impossible to get an unsecured £5k loan with anything like a reasonable APR.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
If you are receiving enough in allowances to repay a £5,000 loan... you are receiving far too much money from the taxpayer.
Benefits should cover basic living needs, not to repay loans.Beware of imitations e.g. Robert Sterling0 -
Helpful as ever Robert!
michelle,
If you need some money for mobility or equipment for your home such as insulation, a washing machine etc you should contact citizens advice and see what grants or support you might be entitled to.
Paying a loan broker a £60 fee just to tell you that you don't qualify or can only borrow a few £100 at a stupid APR is a very bad idea.
R.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

How would you pay it back?0

That's a lot of money to borrow, do you mind me asking you why you want such an amount? Perhaps we can then point you in the righr direction.Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0
