Hi as I have mentioned in other threads, newdeal is coming up for o/h, We are keeping our options open (job/career wise),
Could anyone Give me advice on How he Could get his Fork lift License through newdeal, We found a fabrication welder job advertised, (Somthing he has dipped his fingers in years ago), they want the FL license and are willing to do trial employment, I was wondering if in certain cases whether a employer would be willing to take on an employee (trial), whilst they are training for their FL License?
Cheerz

Some of the larger companies train their FLT drivers internally, however, the type of certificate issued may be restrictive as it may not be valid for any other company.
If you are trained by an external body that has RTITB accreditation, the certificate offered should be accepted universally.
Just something you may or may not be aware of.0 -
Thank you.

Your o/h would need to ask this question from the New Deal advisor. Lots will depend on what the training providers are offering in your area. To put it in a money context a counterbalance FLT licence (starting from scratch costs about £500) and the course should last approx 4.5 days. This is not to far from the cost of many other courses and I would be surprised if it is not offered.0

Also if the jobseeker has been claiming for more than 6 months and gets a job for more than 13 weeks the employer can get Job Introduction Scheme payment, which I think is about £1000. This would be in addition to any training paid for by the Jobcentre.
It would be helpful to emphasise the jobseeker's skills and abilities to do other productive work whilst being trained on forklift.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Thank you guyz, He got his Meeting tomorrow, so fingers crossed

FLT - OK, look for any FLT job and you will see "Must have at least 6 months warehouse experience" i was in this position, buzzing with my new license and looking for work, i did not get even 1 job, ALL the companies want experienced workers. Waste of time and money to get the FLT counterbalance, i am not sure about the reach license.Owed out = lots. :cool:0
