Pay plan or CCCS

  • I was advised to contact Payplan by HBOS and MBNA (who this month decided to put my CC interest rate up to 34.9%!!!) even though I have never missed a payment).

Spoke to a great guy at Payplan today and have my telephone appointment next Wed. Totally concur about the hardest part being picking up the phone and today feeling good for the first time in ages.

Although from scanning on here it would appear the first few months are not too easy.

I agree professor! It's going to be difficult at first but once we get used to it i guess we will look back and think "How on earth did I manage this time last year?" and hopefully be in a better position.

I thought i was going to feel embarrassed about telling someone over the phone all my debts and outgoings, but they are professional and they deal with people with far greater debts than me.

I know for sure that when I am finally debt free one day, I will never ever take out another credit card as long as I live. If i want something then I will save. I always felt guilty buying anything on credit in the past and it feels so much better when you have saved up your hard earned and splashed out!

It's great to come on here and feel i am not alone. So many great inspiring people on here who really have been there done that and bought the t-shirt!

I have just started with Payplan and I can honestly say they are brilliant. I am taking responsibility for the mess I am in and they are supportive, understanding and professional. They are on my side and will give advice without making me feel awful. The hardest part was ringing them. I dithered for months until it got so bad that I was having a nervous breakdown with fear. Now, I am still heavily in debt but my house is OK, I feel so much better inmy head and I can start to look the world again straight in the eyes. The main thing I want to say is that by being honest and open is such an empowering feeling and a MASSIVE relief.

Go for it and dont ever ever look back....you will move forward in such a positive way that you willl wonder why you didnt do it earlier..........

    GOOD LUCK
