Wedding venues in Herne Bay/Whitstable or nearby?

Hey guys,

We originally planned on a very low-key and extremely MSE wedding but having looked through all sorts of sites I'm getting a bit carried away with the ideas (oops!). One thing that I would definitely love though is a seaside wedding, so any idea what nice venues there are in Whitstable or Herne Bay? Places like Brighton are out as they're too far to travel to, so if anyone knows anything quirky or just nice (not too formal) in those locations, could they pleeeease post a link up so I can have a looksee?

Thanks :D

ekkk another person from whitstable / herne bay

lets start with herne bay ................................ nothing apart from kings hall! herne bay is rubbish for anything nice apart from the beach past kings hall

and whitstable has a few nice places like the artistic beach house on the seafront in front of the street but can only hold about 30 / 50 people but is gorgous http://www.tranquil-beacon.co.uk/

or you have the east quay which is next door to the brewery bar which does bbqs in the summer and is gorgous as its right on the beach http://www.hotelcontinental.co.uk/hotel/view/brewerybar

then you have the marine hotel on tankerton seafront http://www.marinewhitstable.co.uk/index.htm

and the castle which should be complete this summer http://www.whitstablecastle.co.uk/

then you have the duke which has a lovely stable bar http://www.thedukeinwhitstable.co.uk/old-stables-bar-function-room.shtml

or the whistle stop restruant if you like train theme places (its under a train bridge! )

also windy ridge in whitstable http://windyridgewhitstable.co.uk/weddings-functions.html

:) now breath and by the way these aren't all to my taste just telling what there is in whitstable :)

Wow, thank you so much, this is great! I'm actually a little bit in love with the beach house, might have to rethink the whole thing now and see if I can convince H2B to go along with it!

    Edit: 200th post, hell yeah!
  • i love love love love love love loved the beach house but my partner hated it like a lot of men i know for some stupid reason its my fav place in the world i love that stretch of beach! good luck planning! x

It looks so lovely! And the photos could be amazing, there's some up on the site that I think look sooooo good! The only problem is that I would love a big reception with loads of people so it's either hiring a hall or something and having loads of people, or hiring out that cute beach house and having an "intimate" wedding. What to dooooooooooo :D

Have an intimate wedding - you could still have lots of fun without lots of hangers on eg. your ex boss, your workmates (unless you socialise with them anyway away from work), etc.
