  • On another thread, the OP states that the Child Maintenance is for four children, but only one is her partner's child. He doesn't feel that he can cut it down, but I really don't think they have much choice. It can always be increased again later.
  • unfortunately dnt have a room to let ,i agree with the sky and stuff will be reducing whatever i can to a minimum plus will get rid of sky complete as we have been with them over a year so shoould be able to get out of that .as for the child maint i will have to spk to my partner ,as was already said he is the only one who pays for his child out of the four his ex has ,the other three fathers are awol ,but will look at reducing this in the short term

its not your partners decision as to whether he drops the payments.
As he will only be living of SSP he wont be able to pay it.

Why does it cost over £35 a week in fares to work/college?
Cant you get a weekly travelcard or even a bike and ride?
  • A weekly bus ticket in my area costs £15 - my daughter discovered that she can use one for work (agency). previously, she was paying between £4 and £6 just to get to and from one job, two bus rides away, six days a week. She also paid another £4 three days a week to get to another shift, so a weekly bus ticket saves quite a bit.

The monthly ticket in our area is only slightly cheaper than buying them weekly, and she would need to provide passport photos, which would cancel out the first month's saving. It's still worth the OP checking what is available in her area though

the OP says in another post her 1 bed house is a 10 minute walk to uni...
  • firstly my partner is only part time uni ,and works full time along with that ,travel expenses are the same wether i walk down to uni or jump the bus a few stops ,in glasgow we use zone cards unfortunately my work is in glasgow and i live in a town outside of it which is quite a few zones hence the price of the ticket ,plus as i work out of hours for the nhs trips often invilve different routes depending on the shifts im working (i.e early ,back ,or nights)
