OK this is a strangeone but here we go
Bit of quick history tried for 8 years to have a child after a lot of treatment we were blessed with twins but sadly we lost our precious during the pregnancy BUT were blessed with his twin Henry. i have held on to every second with henry and now feel that as I doubt we'll be blessed again I need to start moving on from holding onto this little baby and realise that he is now mummy's big boy. I am having difficulty though sorting and passing on his baby clothes so thought maybe i could make or have made a blanket or teddy out of some of his special clothes.
Gosh I sound like a basket case looking back at what I have just written sorry.
So I need help with this any ideas?
Ps can sew in a straight line and thats about it have never made anything before but thought it would be a nice way of keeping things as a memory and then moving on

hello wendy
I am sorry for your loss but glad that you have your little Henry
A good place to go for ideas might be the 'knit a square to give your share' thread. They are a very friendly bunch of sewers and knitters, many of them make blankets for SANDS memory boxes, I am sure they will have a wealth of ideas for you. xxx2016: No Clutter to Be Seen 805/2016

Hiya,
I think a nice teddy made of his clothes will be lovely! In Prima magzine this month they have a teddy bear make it thing and you could pop in a small paper heart in the bear too.....?Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790 -
Hi Wendy meet another basket case:) Both my two children (now 16 and 20) have rather large bears (a christmas special offer from one of the department stores) dressed in their baby clothes. My daughter keeps her's on her bed, my son, on the other hand, can often be heard wrestling with it or throwing it against the wall. I suggest you keep your memento safely tucked away.We could all learn a little something from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.0

How about making a patchwork quilt/bedspread/wall hanging for his bed - if the clothes are too tiny to make squares (or whatever shape) bits of them could be appliqued on0

Bless you you are no basket case you just love your little boy very much.
I had both of my kids first shoes bronzed and made a cushion cover for each of them with the material from their baby clothes and they both have them on their beds, DS is 21 this year and DS is 16 and they still have them and the cot blankets I knitted tooBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Dont know if this will help but I was a carer for my Mum and when she passed away I made a cushion cover out of the various favourite nighties she used to wear (you can get a cushion insert/stuffing from hobbycraft quite cheaply) and when i need a cuddle from mum my cushion gives me lots of comfort.2010 has got to be better than the last two years!! :rotfl:

Sending you a big hug wendyphant, and I don't think you're crazy at all. I think it would be lovely to make something or dress up a bear and people have come up with lgreat ideas. Both of these would get worn/damaged eventually but if you have plenty of bits then no matter.
What I would definitely do is have a really special box and put some bits in there, not just clothes but hospital tags, cards, some photos etc. I think this is important as you get to see the actual (tiny) size of the clothes even when Henry is a big, strapping lad which can't happen with patchwork. I know some people like to do montage stuff under glass like scrapbooking and put them on show but personally I think keeping them hidden for private moments is better.0
