a couple of applications, but so many calls!

Hello (newbie here!)
I applied for a loan before Christmas. I did a couple of applications online. We have kind of put the whole thing on the back burner for a while because of personal problems but I have had so many calls from all sorts of different companies saying they have had my details passed on. I have fobbed most of them off, but one has just called and i kept listening. But when he asked for personal details I said i would find their website and call back (not ring he direct line he gave me). Anyway the website he told me it was doesn't even exist! money-secrets.co.uk.
Do you think this was dodgy at all?
