  • genuine question, having had lots of welly trouble the last few weeks! is it worth paying more for hunters? i have tried (and returned as faulty) ones from tesco and m&s due to them splitting after a few weeks of wearing them to walk the dog. how long should you reasonably expect wellies to last? i think the hunter ones come with a 12 month guarantee, is that right?
Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !

    Hiya,

I've had my hunters coming up for 2 years and they are walked everyday with the dog, still got loads of life in them and so comfy....the orthopeadic sole really does make the difference, i can walk miles in mine.

I would never pay full price, you can usually get them discounted somewhere. But i tried with cheaper wellies and its a false economy, i used to be able to feel every stone in cheap ones making for uncomfy trekking, i think they are really worth the cost. :)

I'd love a pair of Hunters but when I tried a pair on they weren't quite wide enough in the calf for me - wouldn't have been able to put my trousers/jeans inside when the weather is bad :(. Perhaps I need to diet :( :lipsrseal

    EDITED:
Just found out you can buy Huntress boots which are slightly wider in the calf. Looks like they will fit nicely. Can get Black, Navy or Green. Navy looks nice.

spotted these while browsing another site, they're not quite so cheap, but still £20 off and I think they're rather nice (RHS oak leaf Hunter Boots) £39.99 was £59.99
