I need some advice please

I phoned my credit card company to explain that i am have some financial difficulties. I have just had a baby and am struggling to pay the minimum amount.
I explained this and spoke to a man who was not interested in listening to my situation, all he wanted was a payment from me, i explained that i havent got any money to pay him and he was rude and spoke over me, i asked to speak to the supervisor and he said that he could deal with my situation, after me explaining again that i couldnt afford a payment he again spoke over me so i demanded to speak to the supervisor who then referred me to another department.
I spoke to a women who instantly had an attitude as soon as she came on to the phone, she asked me why i couldnt afford a payment, i again explained my situation and she asked whether i thought about this during my pregnancy, i said no, she then said that it was my own fault because i got pregnant and i should have thought about the consiquences. I at that point got a bit angry and said that i fell pregnant and a termination was out of the question, and she then said again, that it is my fault! I said to her that i cant change the past and im phoning to ask for help today and i think that she was way out of order for saying that and that i would like to speak to someone else as i found her very rude, she then said that she will hang up on me, which is what she should do.
I feel very upset, victimised and embarrassed about this and i was wondering if there was anything i can do
Please help, i feel reluctant to make any payments now

Firstly that is terrible i`m sorry that happened to you.
People have their own opinions BUT certainly shouldn`t view them especially when proffessional!
Saying that i have been faced with similar insults from my local council  As i had no proof of the conversations i couldnt do anything!
I have no advise but i`m sure others will be along soon.

What is the debt amount? and what is the debt for?

Maybe worth you doing a SOA to see how your doing financially and we can help you to reduce outgoings to throw at debts.

    What total scumbags!

Write a letter of complaint outlining what you have told us and the approximate times of the calls. Send it to their HO complaints dept and the OFT - there are guidelines for debt collection - pressurising people to pay more than they can afford and implying that having a baby is irresponsible - totally out of order.

Work out your SOA and make sure you have a bank account which is not affiliated to these thugs so they can't offset.

Don't let them get away with this treatment.

I completely agree with MyopicMoo. Don't let them get away with this. I had a similar situation with a very horrible and rude lady at Welcome Finance. My husband straight away wrote to their head office and the OFT, also requesting that from then on, they dealt with him with regards to the account. We got a letter of apology, saying that the woman would be re-trained, and that they were no longer going to contact myself, but deal with him for any future queries.
Seriously, don't let them get away with it. No-one has the right to speak to anyone like that.
