Experian Credit Check - settled accounts

Hello
I have recently viewed my credit status using the experian free trial and have noticed that my report just contains lots of settled accounts (about 15). If they are settled does anyone know if this means closed? I know it does say they stay on your account 6yrs but I am panicking that maybe if they were closed they shouldnt be on there? Anyone have any advice?
Thank you

Hi there
I'm pretty sure that all credit, whether settled or not stays on your file as it shows your credit history, and proves how well you have managed that credit. I've seen my report and there are store cards on there that I just took out for an offer, paid off immediately and closed the account. I don't think there's anyway of getting rid of them - they will just slide off after the 6 years is up.
Just to note that if you have any old cards/accounts hanging around that are at zero balance, they will still show as credit available to you.
Best wishes
