Mortgage on benefits help please

My Halifax tracker is about to expire. Normarily I would look around for another good deal either with the Halifax or elsewhere but due to my current situation I've had to apply for benefits & now have the interest on the mortgage paid for me & I presume that I won't be a very good candidate for getting a new mortgage. If I stay with my existing mortgage, the monthly repayments are bound to go up & will be at a level that the housing benefit doesn't cover & I'll not be able to cover the extra amount needed.
Does anyone know if any mortgage company will offer a mortgage to someone claiming housing benefit? (It seems highly unlikely to me but it's worth asking!).
The other option I have is that my partner (who doesn't live with me) is able to pay my mortgage for me. Is there a way of my partner applying for a mortgage on my property or do they need to own it? Is there a way my partner can pay my mortgage whilst it's in my name but in a way that I don't have to declare it as an 'income' thus reducing my benefit entitlement given that I won't actually be receiving the money myself?
Any help gratefully received.

Halifax tend to offer very good deals to existing clients that compare well with most mortgages, they dont require any proof of income if you are not borrowing extra funds and there are no deed release fees to pay. I would call the Halifax or a w-o-m broker and see what they can offer you.I am a Mortgage Adviser
