ASDA Flowers - not impressed

I ordered some flowers to be delivered to a hospital by ASDA on Friday, it wasn't until Sunday that a relative went to visit and realised they hadn't been sent!
After four phone calls to ASDA (and four promises of call backs which never happened) I'm absolutely seething. They didn't tell me the item had not been delivered, despite asking for my phone number at the point of purchase.
Each time I have spoken to someone they've given me a different excuse as to why they weren't delivered. I haven't been given any of the evidence I asked for to prove someone actually tried to get them to the ward I specified. However, they've told me I might not be entitled to a refund?!?!?!?!?!
Anyone else had a similar experience? I'd seriously avoid this service like the plague, the flowers may be cheap, but when you deal with customer 'services' you'll realise why...

A Bargain is only a bargain if you need it!0 -
they may have been refused by the hospital as flowers are seen as an infection risk however it is no excuse for not informing you or giving you a refund.0

i sent my mam a 'tropical bouquet' last year and they arrived with ALL of the heads in the bottom of the box. she complained. and they sent a bunch of carnations. I paid for tropical flowers like bird of paradise ( is that what they are called?)
She didnt tell me this until months later though! grrrrrrr!!!It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

Thanks for all your advice guys! I've spoken to Trading Standards and they've been in breach of about half a dozen trade laws so with any luck I should get my money back...0
