That never occurred to me! I would have to be able to get it to my Mum's bank account from my end though, she hasn't got internet connection...but if I can get around that? I will look into it, thanks

With skype you can buy a licence to cover calls for various parts of the world (I think this is a one off but am not sure) and then you can dial landlines and skype phones for free you will have to have a PAYG system for calling mobile phones though.
£300 on your groceries/household & baby items is a lot to pay each month - meal plan, bulk cook and freeze, drop a brand in the supermarket and use different shops e.g. pound shopts for your household cleaning products.0 -

I will look into how much the licence costs as well as other costs and also how much we could save on our broadband each month and see if it all works out cheaper...thanks
As for groceries, we do try and reduce it each month, unfortunately we don't have a pound shop anywhere near us
and we don't have any of the 'cheaper' supermarkets either (we are in the cotswolds in a rural location quite far from any towns, let alone cities!).
I do buy basics on a lot of products which is helping, we used to spend about £600 per month if not more, so we have made huge cuts already. My DD doesn't get on with any nappies other than Pampers (they all leak everywhere, she must be a funny shape bless her) so that's quite pricey. I'm sure we can keep cutting it down though
