Just send the following letter and don't worry about them. Was it actually addressed to you or someone else? If someone else then do not reply, just bin it. If it was you, then send this:Dear Sirs,
Account No: XXXXXXXX
You have contacted me regarding the account with the above reference number, which you claim is owed. I would like to point out that we have no knowledge of any such debt being owed to you.The ‘Office of Fair Trading Debt Collection Guidance’ states that it is unfair to send demands for payment to an individual when it is uncertain that they are the debtor in question. They also state that it is unfair to pursue third parties for payment when they are not liable. In not ceasing collection activity whilst investigating a reasonably queried or disputed debt you are using deceptive and unfair methods. Similarly, ignoring and disregarding claims that debts have been settled or are disputed and continuing to make unjustified demands for payment, amounts to physical and psychological harassment.
In light of the above, I formally request that no further contact be made concerning the above accounts unless you can provide evidence as to my liability for the debt in question.I await your written confirmation that this matter is now closed, within the next 14 days.
Yours faithfullySign digitally

Oh no never-in-doubt. I usually use such a chance to phone up and go ballistic at these awful people and threaten them with all sorts of legal action. It probably achieves very little:mad:. It is a great stress-reliever though:DCredit cards + Loans - Savings in Jan 2012 = £26,228.16 . Need to get paying them off!0

If you're not careful this will reveal your number to them, which at this stage is their aim.
(prefix 141 to block your number I think)
Any sort of conversation is likely to reveal some information about you. They may at this stage not know anything, even whether this debt is yours. AK are well known for 'fishing' - buy old untraceable debt for peanuts, then chase anyone who has a similar name and see if anyone 'bites.'
NID's advice is good.
The other option is to ignore them0
