Hi, can anyone tell me about accord mortgages are they a good company? Are they less strick on scoring than abbey?
They are part of the Yorkshire Building Society, they offer intermediary only deals. I dont know how they compare in terms of 'scoring' with other companies, they used to offer a mix of prime and sub prime products - perhaps one of the mortgage people can comment on the situation now.
In my case the application to offer was done within 5 working days with absolutely no problems at all, for what it is worth they answer their telephones quickly and are very pleasant.
I hadnt heard of them, read around on here and they seemed to be more associated with self cert and poor credit mortgages - however they do offer prime mortgages at what seemed at the time a really good rate (4.69% fixed for 5 years as off 04/09).
They recently increased their SVR from 5.29% to 5.99% - dont know if any of this is helpful at all, but there you go, the sum total of my knowledge about Accord Mortgages.0 -
Building Societies tend to be less hindered by and less and focused on credit scoring, and instead use the old fashioned Human approach.
I find the Stroud and Swindon to be particualry useful, but make no mistakem Human underwriters no all the tricks!0
