Proper maple syrup (not maple flavoured stuff) is available in a 250g bottle for £1.84 in my local Asda.I'm a nutter :j0

I bought a small bottle from Asda at the weekend, was on offer at £1. I only want it for pancakes too0

Our Budgens had Tate & Lyle maple syrup in a squeezy bottle for just over £1! I stocked up after if had disappeared from Tesco...0

Watch for Aldi having maple syrup, they usually have some that's quite good for pancakes. Stocked up last year and have only just finished it. It was just the thinnish syrup for pancakes. Hope they have it again!0

Jusr had Aldi's email of Thursday's offers, maple syrup is on it £3,49 a bottle.

I highly recommend adding bacon to your pancakes and maple syrup, it's super yummy. Here's a recipe on the BBC website (it doesn't matter if you make UK or US pancakes, both work amazing with the mixture of the bacon and maple syrup).
American pancakes with crisp bacon and maple syrup
Ingredients
175g/6oz self raising flour
110g/4oz caster sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
2 eggs
275ml/9fl oz milk
butter, for frying
To serve:
8 slices streaky bacon, cooked until crisp
55ml/2fl oz maple syrup
Method
1. To make the pancakes, sift the flour into a bowl with the baking powder and caster sugar. Add the eggs and milk, whisk together but be careful not to over mix it.
2. Heat a little butter in a non-stick pan and then add 2 tbsp of batter for each pancake. Swirl the mixture in the pan, until it is evenly spread.
3. Serve topped with the crisp bacon and maple syrup.I :heart2: Waitrose0 -

I saw one in Asda today that sounded similar and was £1 per bottle, but when you read the back it was only 40% maple syrup with the rest some other type of syrup, so check to make sure you're getting what you think you are!0 -
Thanks I havent ventured to Asda yet so pancakes will wait until the weekend. Plus I still have a banoffee pie left to scoff... there will be no room lol
Thanks everyone! great!
Ultra cheap thanks for the recipe... Hmmm will the bacon work as well with the Betty Crocker 'just add water' version lol lol ?
I might look for some sausage patties and pretend i'm in macdonalds too lol0
