jellygirl, did you tell the landlord you were/were going bankrupt when you found somewhere to rent? how did they respond?
I was already BR - yes I was totally up front with the estate agents - i did put up 3 months rent in advance and needed a guarantor but it was fine, but obviously cant speak for all agents here - my own experience is to be up front with an agency as they will find out through a credit check anyway. If I had gone through a private landlord I wouldnt have told them about the BR unless I was asked (hoping that they wouldnt do a credit check). Hopefully, I now have nearly a year of good rental standing and Im hoping it will stand me in good stead when I move on to another rented place.:j Goodbye debt - Hello sanity! :j0 -

and thankyou, think that what i need a plan so i know whats happening when and im scared ill do something wrong and it'll all be over then i'll get a letter from someone saying we still owe money!
You will find all the help you need on this forum - I wouldnt have known half of what I did if I hadnt found this place - people with real experience of all aspects of BR. Try not to let yourself get overloaded with trying to work everything out - I remember about this time last year how much pressure I felt under as I have gone through this on my own, but the brill people on this forum helped me so much to discover my best options and make a plan - I struggled for while with working out which order to do stuff in, especially regarding the house, but its panned out ok.:j Goodbye debt - Hello sanity! :j0 -
