crispy duck pancakes - where to buy??

Hiya,
Which aisles of the main supermarkets have you tried? Although I'm now vegetarian, just over a year ago sainsburys used to have half crispy duck (pre shredded) and pancakes with hoisin sauce for about £4 in the fresh refrigerated ready meals section. I bought some for OH the other day from Tesco and they had two varieties - the fresh section had half a duck with pancakes and hoisin sauce for £4.35 (reduced from £4.99) and the frozen section had the same for £4.50.
Try the frozen joint roast section, or the frozen ready meals. With all of these options you will need to buy spring onions and cucumber to go with it, and I recommend finding an extra sachet of hoisin sauce because you only get a small pot. Blue Dragon do a sachet for about 60p.
Hope you find your CD pancakes!

EDIT: Aaagh sorry! You meant just the pancakes! Yes, Chinese supermarkets are a good place to try, you can pick up a big pack of them for around the £2 mark, some I have come across smaller packs for around £1. Sorry about the misunderstanding!0 -
Thanks everyone, live up in Cheshire and have no waitrose.......so have ordered some from Ocado and they deliver! Thanks again!0

I have tried most of the main supermarkets, but no one seems to do them - will i have to try a chinese specialist store?
Thanks!
I've had the same problem travelturkey. What I've ended up doing is just buying them from our local chinese takeaway as and when we need them. I ususally order around 4 portions (side orders) in one go and they're always fine about it- I suppose it's still custom for them at the end of the day. It's not cheap though - I think it's £1.20 per portion (around 6 or 8 pancakes). Then again, I read that they're expensive anyway if you do manage to get them from the supermarket - lucky you if you do! :j
Hope this helps.0 -
Saw some today in Aldi, I think £1.99 for 6.0

Was in the fresh poultry section of Sainsbury's this morning and beside the duck and duck portions, there were packets of Gressingham pancakes - 14 to a pack.0

Makro sell the pancakes as of course do Chinese supermarkets.
If you are really struggling buy some from your local Chinese takeaway0 -
Saw them in morrisons yesterday in the isle with all the indian/thai paste's etc.
Although you will be better off going to a chinese supermarket and buying a frozen pack and using them as you need them, I would imagine that would be cheaper.0
