£1500 in 10 days...?

Hello all.
This is my first thread, hope you can help...?
My father in law took my wife to court two years ago over a 'loan' he made to her when she split up with her ex partner several years ago. My wife always believed this was a gift but after the whole family broke off relations with her father (long story!) she received a summons from the court. He stated it had only been a loan and now he wanted it back. In summary, the court found in his favour and ordered my wife to pay back the £3200. We have been paying £50 per month since. My wife (unbeknown to me) hasnt paid the last 3 payments as I think she had just had enough of the thought of her own dad treating her like this - its not been easy!!
Anyway, we have now received a warrant of execution from the court demanding payment of the £1500 balance before 15th of this month. My wife has contacted the court and they have said this is not negotiable. Is this correct?
Just to re-iterate, this is an agreement made by the court between my wife and her dad, not a company, business or credit provider.
Any help appreciated.....!

Can't offer any advice i'm afraid.
I would try posting this over on the consumeractiongroup forum under legal issues though incase they can clarify and advise of what your options may be.

I imagine if it's been ordered by the court then it is as a result of enforcement proceedings which she has failed to defend. Has she had any papers from the court?Debt free as of July 2010 :j
