Wholesale Baby Items?

Not sure if this is the right forum to post on or not but I need a bit of help.
I started doing baby baskets for friends and family a few years back and kept getting compliments from everyone about how nice they were:j, and I have now decided to start making some up to sell on ebay/carboots etc...
However I dont know where to start as regards to wholesale baby products i.e toiletries, baby gros, nappies and of course toiletries for the mother. If anyone has any good websites/wholesalers that I can use then that would be very much appreciated :).
Thanks
Becky

    I've been Money Tipped!
I can't help with wholesale sources (although £1 shops might be worth a look for branded toilietries), but what about offering organic/eco-friendly baskets as part of the range?
  • Thanks for the reply,
Yeah had thought about doing that too, thought they might sell better being organic or eco-friendly.
  • hi, you will prob find that its cheaper to buy the items from a supermarket, especially when they have offers on the leading brands of baby bath times stuff...

you could use the supermarket comparison sit to keep track of the baby stuff thats on offer... nappies etc

  • Asdas Baby Event is currently on i believe, have a look on http://direct.asda.com/Baby-+-Toddler-Event/6010,default,sc.html

Even when its not the event they always have great multibuy offers!

  • The issue with wholesale will be that they want a big order, such as £500 minimum. I know that Johnsons used to do wholesale, and want a £1,000 intial order, with £500 minimum orders after that. They don't do wholesale anymore...

Have you got pounds shops around? I agree with the others, keeping your eyes peeled for deals might be more cost effective unless you want to start on a big order...I've got limited contacts if so?

Becky I work in a baby shop and can probably help you. You will find that most of the big cheap brands will want huge first and minimum orders. You could try using smaller companies but the products themselves are more expensive.
For example for toiletries you could contact Healthquest who supply pure adore and earth friendly bath products. There is also weleda who supply their own brand which is fantastic but expensive. Their minimum orders are low and carriage free on an order of £75. All of the products we sell and supply are generally organic, Fairtrade or ethical in some way and I can give you some more contacts if you are serious

I have seen lots of branded products in my local poundland. Also Home Bargains can be very cheap if you have one local to you.
