Hi all,

Please help with some advice on a loan i took out.

march 2009 i took out 9.5k from hsbc @ 8.9% (graduate apr).

Been paying it every month and now feel like a top of of about 2k would be nice to have about.

Whats the best way to go about this? Also, is it best to phone or go into the branch?!

Any advice much appreciated

Better to go to the bank and chat face to face. I had a similar experience when I wanted to top up my loan with Barclays. When I left the bank there was an extra £5000 in my account, and at a lower interest rate than the original loan.
  • Cheers. sounds like a good idea. They've booked me in for a meeting with an FPM on monday. Hopefully it goes as good as your meeting with the bank!
